CafePress - New Goatie Gifts!

Well- We all survived the fireworks- The goats are not exactly fans of them but they were all around us- no laws here ;( We are not big fans of loud noises here.. but we did survive.. )

But on the bright side- We DO have some FUN goat designs for ya' ll!
The first section is The Goat Lady With 3 designs, one of a cute gal holding a baby goat, one with a gal who has finally Become a goat - And the third is a bit different.. she is still a gal but with hooves and horns.. they all tell the tale.. be with goats long enough and you become your goats.. Or they become you.. in any case they are becoming.. ;)

Then we have a Show Goat Section for all those of you who are In it for the Bucks! or just In it for the Doe! NO matter which you are - we have it for you and will be adding more breeds as time goes by- Right now we have angora bucks and does, dairy does, and nigerian bucks.. Very Cool!

Now, this is NO JOKE! Goat people need to know their goats are loved.. and if you know what's good for you and you want to be friends with a goat lover- YOU had Better love the goats too.. Nothing turns off a goat owner more than someone who doesn't share the goat crazyness of the goat owner! SO Love me- Love MY Goats is not just a cute saying- it is Gospel among goat owners! ;)

Along with Love me, Love my Goats is My Goats are Spoiled Rotten! Now many goat owners will have at least ONE goat who is spoiled rotten- and some (like me) will have a herd of the spoiled little goaties! Spoiled goats are not a bad thing.. just means they get what ever they want - when ever they want it- no questions asked.. ;) And why not?
Within reason of course!

Last but certainly not least is Promote the Goat
The world needs to know how wonderful goats are (IN my opinion anyway)- Goats have gotten such a bad rap over the years that it is time to educate people on the positive aspect of having goats- not only do they provide you with essential foods- fiber for making some of the most sought after fabrics.. Cashmere goats produce a fiber, Cashmere wool, which is one of the best in the world. Cashmere fiber is very fine and soft, and grows beneath the guard hairs. Ideally there is a proportionally smaller amount of guard hair (which is undesirable and cannot be spun or dyed) to the cashmere fiber. Most goats produce cashmere fiber to some degree, however the Cashmere goat has been specially bred to produce a much higher amount of it with fewer guard hairs. The Angora breed produces long, curling, lustrous locks of mohair. The entire body of the goat is covered with mohair and there are no guard hairs. The locks can be six inches or more in length. Goats do not have to be slaughtered to harvest the wool, which is instead sheared (cut from the body) in the case of Angora goats, or combed, in the case of Cashmere and Pygora goats. The fiber is made into products such as sweaters. Cashmere, pygora and mohair are warmer per ounce than wool and are not scratchy or itchy or as allergenic as wool sometimes is. ALL of these command a higher price than wool, compensating for the fact that there is less fiber per goat than there would be wool per sheep. Didn't know this came from goats? Well it does!
And the goats are the best part of the fiber!

Goat milk is the best milk for your body- Goat's milk is more easily digestible and less allergenic than cow's milk. Goat's milk is a very good source of calcium and a good source of protein, phosphorous, riboflavin (vitamin B2) and potassium. Perhaps the greatest benefit of goat's milk, however, is that some people who cannot tolerate cow's milk are able to drink goat's milk without any problems....

Goat meat, or Chevon, is one of the most widely consumed meats in the world. However, its consumption in the US has generally been limited to specific ethnic groups. It has an excellent flavor somewhat similar to beef and venison. It has less fat than chicken or any of the red meats commonly consumed in the US. This is because goats tend to deposit their fat internally before they deposit it externally. (I personally do not raise meat goats but I support those who do)
So while goats have often times been thought of as the poor man's cow- we now know they are the elite producers of many products! So.. Join the Campaign! Promote the Goat!

This goes without saying.. Goats are the Greatest of All Time
In my heart anyways- and all goat owners will agree.. They are smart, fun, and easy to raise. They give so much to the farm and can be easily raised on a small farm and get along with just about every other animal - Do it! Get a GOAT!

Last but not least we have the Old Goat All done in fun! You may be an Old Goat, Married to one or know one.. in any case this is a fun Tee to have!
I Told you we have been busy..
Enjoy- Until next time.. ;)
